Lions S James Ihedigbo Plans To Hold Out For New Deal

Brad Galli of WXYZ reports that Lions S James Ihedigbo is seeking a new contract and plans to hold out of offseason workouts.

Ihedigbo, 31, has one year remaining on his two-year, $3.15 million contract that included $750,000 guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $1.1 million for the 2015 season and has already been paid a $500,000 roster bonus on third day of league year.

According to Wilson, the Lions were made aware of Ihedigbo’s demands prior to his roster bonus.

In 2014, Ihedigbo appeared in 13 games and recorded 71 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, three forced fumbles, a recovery and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 14 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
