Lions Sign DTs Ego Ferguson & Bruce Gaston, Cut Two

The Detroit Lions announced Thursday that they’ve signed defensive tackles Ego Ferguson and Bruce Gaston and placed defensive tackles Nick James and Maurice Swain on waivers.

Ferguson, 25, was taken in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft. He’s was in the final year of his four-year, $4,113,203 contract when the Bears elected to waive him with an injury designation at the start of the season and he was later placed on injured reserve after clearing waivers.

The Bears officially moved on from Ferguson a few months ago before he was later claimed by the Packers and cut loose soon after. Green Bay cut him loose just two days later with a failed physical designation.

In 2015, Ferguson appeared in four games for the Bears and recorded just three tackles before he was placed on injured reserve.
