Lions Sign First-Round LB Jarrad Davis

The Detroit Lions have signed first-round LB Jarrad Davis to a four-year rookie contract, according to Dave Birkett.

According to OverTheCap.com, Davis will receive a four-year contract worth $10,969,420, which includes a signing bonus of $6,117,760. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

Davis, 22, was selected with the No. 22 overall pick by the Lions in this year’s draft. Davis was among the top linebacker prospects in what was considered to be a pretty good class of prospects.

The Lions could really use an impact linebacker in the middle of their defense and Davis’ skill set should be a big boost to their defense in the coming years.

During his four-year college career at Florida, Davis recorded 201 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one interception, nine pass defenses, and two forced fumbles.
