Lions Sign First-Round Pick TE Eric Ebron

Lions first-round pick TE Eric Ebron announced that he has signed his rookie contract on Friday.

Detroit has now locked up their entire eight-man 2014 draft class to four-year contracts.

Ebron’s four-year contract is worth an estimated  $12,249,146 and includes a signing bonus of $7,228,472, according to OverTheCap.com.

He gives the Lions another mismatch for opposing defenses to deal with. The Lions also brought in Golden Tate in free agency, so they made a concerted effort to improve their offensive weapons for new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi.

During his three years at North Carolina, Ebron caught 112 passes for 1,805 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.
