Lions Sign Fourth-Round Pick DE Larry Webster

Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com reports that the team has signed fourth-round pick DE Larry Webster to a four-year contract.

  • Twentyman also confirmed the signing of seventh-round kicker Nate Freese on Friday as well.

The Lions still have another five draft picks to get under contract, but that shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Webster is a former basketball player who converted to playing defensive end at Bloomsburg two years ago. In 24 games, Webster totaled 31 tackles for loss, 26 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

He is a very intriguing athlete who likely require some time to develop, but he could end up being a great compliment to Ziggy Ansah in time.
