Lions Sign K Matt Prater To Three-Year, $11.4M Extension

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Lions have signed K Matt Prater to a three-year contract extension worth $11.4 million. According to Rapoport, Prater’s new deal can max out at $12.15 million.

Prater, 33, spent seven years with the Broncos before signing a three-year, $9 million contract that included a $750,000 signing bonus and annual $50,000 workout bonuses with the Lions in 2015.

Prater is set to make a base salary of $3,150,000 for the 2017 season and would have been an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2017, Prater has appeared in six games and converted 10 of 12 field goal attempts (83.3 YPC) to go along with all 15 extra point tries for the Lions.
