The Detroit Lions announced Thursday that they’ve signed OT Brian Mihalik to a contract.
This comes a day after the Lions brought Mihalik in for a visit, so he was clearly on their radar as a potential addition.
Mihalik, 23, is a former seventh-round pick of the Eagles back in 2015. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year, but later signed on to the Eagles’ practice squad.
Philadelphia eventually waived him from their taxi squad with an injury settlement. Mihalik would later sign a future/reserve contract with the Steelers. However, he was waived with the injury designation and later placed on injured reserve after clearing waivers.
The Steelers later waived him from their injured reserve list with an injury settlement a few weeks into the preseason.
Mihalik has yet to appear in an NFL game.
