Lions Sign RB Theo Riddick To Three-Year, $12.75M Extension

Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports that the Lions have agreed to terms on a contract extension with RB Theo Riddick.

  • Ian Rapoport confirms the news and adds that Riddick receives a three-year, $12.75 million extension.
  • Spotrac points out that this contract will leave Riddick as the No. 11 highest paid running back ahead of Matt Forte and Mark Ingram.

Riddick, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Lions back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.25 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Reddick appeared in all 16 games for the Lions and ran for 133 yards on 43 carries (3.1 YPC) to go along with 80 receptions for 697 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
