Lions Sign Second-Round DL A’Shawn Robinson To A Four-Year Deal

The Detroit Lions announced that they’ve signed second-round DL A’Shawn Robinson to a four-year contract on Tuesday.

With this signing, the Lions have officially locked up their entire 2016 draft class.

Robinson, 21, was taken with the No. 46 overall pick a few weeks ago. Many considered Robinson to be a first-round talent, so I’m sure the Lions were very happy to come away with him in the middle of round two.

Detroit needed to bolster their defensive line depth, and Robinson should offer them some position versatility up front.

According to OverTheCap.com, Robinson receives a four-year contract worth $5,233,638 to go along with a signing bonus of $2,006,280.

During his three-year college career at Alabama, Robinson recorded 133 tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery and five passes defended.
