Lions Sign Second-Round Pick RB Ameer Abdullah

The Detroit Lions announced the signing of second-round pick RB Ameer Abdullah to a four-year contract on Wednesday.

Detroit now has all of their 2015 draft picks under contract except first-round selection Laken Tomlinson.

Abdullah should have an opportunity to carve out a large role in the Lions’ offense, despite being a first-year player.

According to OverTheCap.com, Abdullah is projected to receive a four-year contract worth $4,052,734 and includes a signing bonus of $1,207,444.

During Abdullah’s four years at Nebraska, he ran for 4,588 yards on 813 carries (5.6 YPC) to go along with 73 receptions for 690 yards receiving and 46 total touchdowns.
