Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Lions have signed veteran TE Matthew Mulligan to a contract on Monday.
- Yates points out that new Lions GM Bob Quinn knows Mulligan from their time together in New England.
Mulligan, 31, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Maine back in 2008. Since then, he’s played for several teams including the Titans, Jets, Rams, Packers, Patriots, Bears, and Cardinals.
The Bills elected to sign him to a contract last summer, but he lasted until December before he was waived to make room for Nick O’Leary.
In 2015, Mulligan appeared in 12 games for the Bills and totaled a single reception for two years receiving.
