The Detroit Lions officially signed CB Dee Virgin to their practice squad and released S Rolan Milligan to make room for him.
The Lions practice squad now consists of:
- CB Mike Ford
- WR Chris Lacy
- QB Jake Rudock
- DT John Atkins
- CB Cre’Von LeBlanc
- LB Trevor Bates
- C Leo Koloamatangi
- G Jamil Demby
- TE Jerome Cunningham
- DB Dee Virgin
Virgin, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of West Alabama back in May of last year. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Texans waived him as they cut their roster down to 53 players.
Virgin later signed on to the Texans practice squad and returned to Houston on a futures contract this past January. However, he was waived coming out of the preseason and was later claimed by the Lions.
Detroit elected to waive him last week but decided to quickly sign him to their practice squad now that he cleared waivers.
In 2018, Virgin has appeared in three games for the Lions and recorded one tackle and no interceptions for pass defenses.
