Lions Signing CB D.J. Hayden To One-Year Deal Worth Up To $5.25M

Adam Caplan of ESPN is reporting that the Lions have agreed to terms on a one-year deal up to $5.25 million with CB D.J. Hayden.

Hayden, 26, was taken with the No. 12 overall pick back in 2013. He’s in the final year of his four-year, $10.28 million rookie contract that included $8.048 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season to go along with a $1.1 million roster bonus.

The Raiders declined to pick up his fifth-year option back in April, which left him as an unrestricted free agent this year.

In 2016, Hayden appeared in 11 games for the Raiders and recorded 37 tackles, a forced fumble, no interceptions and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 97 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
