Lions Signing RB Donnel Pumphrey To Practice Squad

Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo are reporting that the Lions are signing former Eagles RB Donnel Pumphrey to their practice squad on Tuesday.

The Lions will have to make a corresponding roster move, as they’re currently at the 10-man limit:

  1. LB Alex Barrett
  2. CB Mike Ford
  3. WR Chris Lacy
  4. S Rolan Milligan
  5. QB Jake Rudock
  6. LB Darnell Sankey
  7. OL Dan Skipper
  8. DT John Atkins
  9. CB Cre’Von LeBlanc
  10. DE Eric Lee
  11. RB Donnel Pumphrey

The Lions brought Pumphrey in for a workout on Monday and looks like everything checked out from there end.

Pumphrey, 23, was taken in the fourth-round of the 2017 NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.97 million contract with the Eagles and was set to make a base salary of $555,000 for the 2018 season when the Eagles waived him last week.

Pumphrey was placed on the Eagles’ injured reserve in September of last year due to a hamstring injury and missed all of 2017. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his four years at San Diego State, Pumphrey rushed for 6,405 yards on 1,059 attempts (6.0 YPC) and 62 touchdowns. He also caught 99 receptions for 1,039 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
