Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Lions are signing TE Ben McCord to a contract following the loss of TE Tim Wright to a torn ACL.
Birkett points out that the Lions were really limited at the position last week and were forced to practice with just two healthy tight ends, as Eric Ebron was out with an undisclosed injury.
McCord wound up going undrafted a month ago out of Central Michigan. During his four-year college career, McCord recorded 65 receptions for 879 yards receiving and nine touchdowns for CMU over the course of 35 games.
