Lions Signing Veteran TE Clay Harbor

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Lions are signing TE Clay Harbor to a contract on Tuesday.

This comes just a day after the Patriots cut Harbor loose.

Detroit could use some depth at tight end with Eric Ebron dealing with ankle and knee injuries.

Harbor, 29, was taken in the fourth-round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Eagles. He lasted three years in Philadelphia before signing on with the Jaguars in 2013. Harbor signed on with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent back in March.

It’s worth mentioning that the Patriots will owe him the remainder of his $900,000 salary, considering that he’s a vested veteran.

This season, Harbor has been active for three games but has yet to catch a single pass.
