Lions Offically Cut 21 Players, Get Down To 53 Players

The Detroit Lions have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 53 players. Here’s the list of roster cuts up to this point:

  1. C Lemuel Jeanpierre
  2. CB Darrin Walls
  3. WR Jace Billingsley
  4.  CB Alex Carter
  5. WR Quinshad Davis
  6. LB Jayson DiManche
  7. TE Adam Fuehne
  8. LB Zaviar Gooden
  9. LB Khaseem Greene
  10. C Gabe Ikard
  11. S Isaiah Johnson
  12. WR TJ Jones
  13. WR Jay Lee
  14. T Luke Marquardt
  15. T Michael Ola
  16. DT Caraun Reid
  17. QB Jake Rudock
  18. OL Brandon Thomas
  19. DB Charles Washington
  20. RB George Winn
  21. DT Gabe Wright

Other roster moves include:

Thomas, 25, was selected in the third-round by the 49ers in the 2014 NFL Draft and is entering the third-year of his four-year, $2.731 million rookie contract that included a $506,016 signing bonus.

Thomas was just traded to the Lions in return for WR Jeremy Kerley.

He has yet to make an appearance during an NFL regular season game.

Ikard, 25, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma back in May of last year. He was waived at the start of the season, but was later claimed off of waivers by the Bills.

Buffalo cut him loose during the 2015 season before he was once again claimed off of waivers by the Browns. Soon after that, the Lions claimed him for a third time.

In 2015, Ikard appeared in four games for the Bills and Lions.
