Lions Tender Offers To Chris Greenwood, Jeremy Ross, Julian Stanford & Matt Veldman

According to his agent, Chris Cabott, Lions CB Chris Greenwood, has signed a contract extension with the team.

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Lions have tendered offers to exclusive rights free agents CB Chris Greenwood, WR Jeremy Ross, LB Julian Stanford and TE Matt Veldman.

  • Tim Twentyman also reports that Lions extended an exclusive rights free agent tender to WR Kris Durham.
  • Pelissero mentions that Greenwood,Ross and Stanford will receive $570,000 each for the 2014 season.
  • Veldman will make $420,000 next season.

Ross, 25, was waived by the Packers mid-season, but caught on with the Lions and would go on to show some ability over the course of nine games with the Lions. His best came against the Packers on Thanksgiving. He finished the year with 514 return yards and two touchdowns while contributing 6 receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.

Greenwood, 24, signed with the Lions after being waived by the Cowboys back in Octobert of last year. He appeared in three games and totaled three tackles.

Stanford, 23, signed on with the Lions back in December of last year. He appeared in four games during the 2013 season and totaled just four tackles.

Veldman, 24, signed with the Lions after he was released by the Jaguars last June. He suffered a strained Achilles’ tendon and was later released only to rejoin the team later in the year. He appeared in just one game last year.
