Lions To Sign DE/OLB Phillip Hunt

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Lions are signing former Eagles and Colts DE/OLB Phillip Hunt to a contract on Thursday.

Hunt, 29, originally signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in 2009. He wound up playing two seasons for the Eagles before they waived/injured him last August.

Hunt, unfortunately, suffered an ACL injury that required surgery back in 2013 and wound up missing the entire season.

He hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2012 when he was playing for the Eagles. That year, he recorded eight tackles and a sack over the course of 13 games.

  1. this is a good signing because they probably go to the draft looking for someone like this anyway…. The Lions could lose George Johnson in free agency, the futures of Palmer, Tapp may depend on camp competition… can we get something like this for the CB group?
