Lions Tried Out TEs Nic Jacobs & Marcel Jensen

The Lions brought in free agent tight ends Nic Jacobs and Marcel Jensen for tryouts Monday, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Jacobs, 24, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of McNeese State back in May of 2014. However, he was waived at the start of the season and later added to the Saints’ practice squad.

The Jaguars eventually signed Jacobs to their active roster and retained him on a one-year contract back in March. Unfortunately, Jacobs was among the team’s early roster cuts last week.

In 2015, Jacobs appeared in 11 games and caught a single pass for six yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Jensen, 26, signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State back in May of last year. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed on their practice squad.

Since then, Jensen has played for a number of teams including the Broncos, Falcons, Bills and most recently for the Redskins.

In 2015, Jensen appeared in one game, but did not record a single statistic. r
