Lions Waive LB Zaviar Gooden

The Detroit Lions announced Monday that they’ve placed LB Zaviar Gooden on waivers.

The Lions promoted Gooden to their active roster this past weekend and cut WR Aaron Dobson loose, so it will be interesting to see if he Lions elect to re-sign Dobson this week.

Gooden, unfortunately, sustained a torn hamstring last August that led to him being placed on injured reserve at the start of the season. The Lions brought him back shortly after this year’s draft only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

Gooden returned to the team’s practice squad last week before being promoted ahead of Sunday’s game.

In 2014, Gooden appeared in 15 games for the Titans and recorded 24 tackles and no sacks.
