Lions Waive QB Jake Rudock

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Lions have placed QB Jake Rudock on waivers Saturday, as they trim their roster down to 53 players.

According to Rapoport, Roduck would be a candidate for the Lions’ practice squad if he clears waivers.

Other reported roster cuts for the Lions include:

  1. CB Josh Okonye
  2. OT Beau Nunn
  3. OL Jamar McGloster
  4. DL Josh Fatu
  5. LB Chad Meredith
  6. G John Montelus
  7. WR Theo Redding
  8. DE Jeremiah Valoaga
  9. WR Chris Lacy
  10. CB Chris Jones
  11. S Rolan Milligan
  12. RB Dwayne Washington
  13. C Wes Johnson
  14. QB Jake Rudock

Rudock, 25, is a former sixth-round pick by the Lions of the 2016 NFL Draft. Detroit elected to waive him as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit at the start of the 2016 season and they signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.

Rudock managed to make the 53-man roster last season. He received a one-year, $630,000 contract from the Lions for the 2018 season as an exclusive rights free agent.

In 2017, Rudock appeared in three games for the Lions and completed three of five pass attempts for 24 yards and an interception.
