Lions Waive RB Rasheed Williams

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have placed RB Rasheed Williams on waivers Wednesday.

  • Birkett mentions that the Lions could use some depth at offensive tackle, and may add someone in the coming days.

Williams signed with the Lions shortly after the draft as an undrafted rookie out of Alfred State. However, he wasn’t eligible to participate in OTAs, which led to him being released.

Detroit elected to bring him back two weeks ago, so his return was obviously short lived.

Williams ran for 1,676 yards (6.7 average) with 16 touchdowns during his senior season at Alfred State.

Lora, 24, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Illinois back in May of last year. He was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but the Lions elected to give him another opportunity last month.
