Lions WR Ryan Broyles announced via his Twitter account Monday that he has been placed on waivers, as Detroit works to trim their roster down to 75 players.

The writing has been on the wall for Broyles, who is a former second-round pick of the Lions back in 2012. He has unfortunately sustained a number of serious injuries over the course of his football career including two ACL surgeries and a torn Achilles.

Broyles, 27, was entering the final year of his four-year, $3.678 million rookie contract that included a $1.115 million signing bonus. He was set to make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Broyles appeared in just five games and caught two passes for 25 yards.
