Lions Waive WR Corey Washington From I.R.

The Detroit¬†Lions announced Friday that they’ve waived WR Corey Washington from the injured reserve list.

Washington officially reverted to the team’s injured list after clearing waivers earlier in the week.¬†Washington unfortunately suffered a hamstring injury during OTAs.

Washington, 24, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Newberry back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few weeks with the Cardinals before he was waived and later claimed by the Giants.

New York later waived him with an injury settlement coming out of the preseason.

After a brief stint with the Redskins, the Lions signed him to a future/reserve contract after the 2015 season.

In 2014, Washington appeared in 14 games for the Giants and caught five passes for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.
