Lions Worked Out 3 Players Including S Robert Blanton

According to Howard Balzer, the Detroit Lions brought in three free agents for workouts on Wednesday including S Robert Blanton, S Ed Reynolds, and OT Bryce Harris.

The Lions elected to sign Harris to their active roster.

Blanton, 27, is a former fifth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Vikings. He played out his rookie contract with the Vikings before signing a one-year, $840,000 deal with the Bills back in March of last year.

Blanton’s 2016 season came to an end after he was placed on injured reserve back in November. The Cowboys elected to cut Blanton loose as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason.

The Bills signed Blanton to a contract a few weeks ago, but he released soon after.

In 2017, Blanton has appeared in two games for the Bills and recorded three tackles and no interceptions or pass defenses.
