Lions Worked Out CB Rod Sweeting

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Lions brought in CB Rod Sweeting for a workout in recent days.

Sweeting, 25, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech back in 2013. He lasted just over a year in New Orleans before he was waived and signed by the Dolphins.

After a few months in Miami, Sweeting signed to the Bills’ practice squad and returned to Buffalo on a future/reserve contract following the 2014 season.

The Cowboys later claimed Sweeting off of waivers from the Bills during the preseason last year. However, Dallas later waived him with an injury settlement and he never caught on with another team last year.

Sweeting hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season when he was playing for the Saints and recorded three tackles over the course of nine games.
