“Lot Of Momentum” Toward Bucs Hiring Bruce Arians, Deal Could Be Announced This Week

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the interview between the Buccaneers and HC Bruce Arians went “very well.

Rapoport says there’s a “lot of momentum” towards the Buccaneers hiring Arians as their next head coach and a deal could be in place as early as this week.

The Buccaneers still plan to interview Cowboys passing-game coordinator Kris Richard on Sunday.

The list of reported interviews for the Buccaneers includes:

  1. Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy (Interviewed)
  2. Vikings DC George Edwards (Interviewed)
  3. Former Cardinals HC Bruce Arians (Interviewed)
  4. Cowboys passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richard (Scheduled)

Arians, 66, was hired by the Cardinals back in 2013 after he filled in for Colts HC Chuck Pagano while he was fighting cancer and managed to win Coach of the Year.

During his five years with the Cardinals, Arians led them to a record of 49-30-1 (61.9 percent), which includes two playoff appearances and a trip to the NFC Championship game in 2015.

We’ll have more regarding Arians as the news is available.
