LSU RB Leonard Fournette Visiting Panthers Monday

Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports that the Panthers are hosting LSU RB Leonard Fournette for a pre-draft visit on Monday.

  • Breer mentions that if Fournette ends up being available to the Panthers at No. 8 overall, he would be a “very real consideration.”
  • Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports hears that Fournette is “increasingly being viewed as a best-of-breed player in this draft” and a “true blue chipper.
  • Some sources have told him that Fournette is even in play for the No. 1 overall pick. Although, he still doesn’t see the Browns using their top pick on him and instead expects them to go with Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett.
  • LSU S Jamal Adams is also visiting with the Panthers on Monday. (Ian Rapoport)

The Panthers have been a popular landing spot for Fournette in mock drafts this year. Although, the Jaguars and Jets have also been suggested as potential options for him.

Fournette previously visited with the Jaguars and Eagles.

Leonard, 22, is arguably the No. 1 running back prospect in what’s considered by many to the deepest running back class in a number of years.

During his college career at LSU, Fournette has rushed for 3,380 yards on 616 carries (6.2 YPC) to go along with 41 receptions for 526 yards receiving and 41 total touchdowns over the course of 32 games.

We have him being selected by the Panthers in the First Round of our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.
