Malcolm Jenkins A Possible Free Agent Target For The Eagles

Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes that Saints free agent S Malcolm Jenkins could be a decent option for the Eagles to consider once free agency is underway.

Philadelphia is believed to be targeting mid-level free agents, so with that in mind, Jenkins seems like an option that worth considering.

Jenkins, 26, is a converted cornerback who McLane believes could benefit from a change of scenery and a new defensive scheme.

He’s spent each of his first five years in the NFL with the Saints. In 2013, he totaled 68 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 65 safety in the league and below-average in coverage.

As for other speculative safety targets, McLane lists Major Wright (Bears), Mike Mitchell (Panthers), Chris Clemons (Dolphins), Antoine Bethea (Colts), Donte Whitner (49ers), and Bernard Pollard (Titans).
