Mario Manningham Open To Returning To The Giants But Realistic About The Situation

New York Giants WR and pending free agent Mario Manningham mentioned that he would like to re-sign with the Giants but added that it’s not going to happen before the start of free agency.

“I want to be here,” Manningham said, via New York Daily News. “(But) it’s a business too. You’ve got to look at it like that, too.

Manningham figures to be in a great position to be over paid now that players like Wes Welker, Dwayne Bowe and Steve Johnson are all off of the market. Despite making an incredible catch in the Super Bowl that allowed them move the ball the entire length of the field for the go-ahead score, Manningham’s 2011 season was largely over shadowed by the rise of Victor Cruz.

There’s been a lot of speculation that teams like the Bears, Bengals and Buccaneers could all have serious interest in him once free agency is open for business.
