Mark Davis May Need To Sell Portion Of Raiders To Mystery Investor To Move To L.A.?

Jason Cole of B/R reports that a key issue in regards to teams possibly relocating to Los Angeles is whether Raiders’ owner Mark Davis is willing to sell a part of or all of his team to an L.A. investor.

Cole has spoken to four sources who said that there is an investor located in Los Angeles who would help the Raiders relocate to L.A. and join the Chargers as part of the Carson project.

There are concerns around the league about Davis’ ability to move the team by himself and handle all of the specifics that would come from moving the team to L.A.

NFL owners reportedly remain divided about which project is best to purse in L.A. between the Carson stadium that could house both the Chargers and the Raiders, and Rams’ owner Stan Kroenke’s Inglewood project. In the end, Cole believes Davis will need to make a “significant move” to get the Raiders to Los Angeles.

Any team relocating to L.A. will need the support of 75 percent of the owners, and recent reports have said that neither project currently has the required votes. However, Chargers owner Dean Spanos reportedly has the backing of more owners than Kroenke, but the Rams owner is believed to have big names like Jerry Jones and Bob Kraft in his corner.

We’ll have more regarding the Los Angeles’ stadium projects and the Raiders as the news is available.

  1. The Raiders have potential investors in Oakland that would build a stadium if Davis is willing to sell a potion of the team. So why go to LA? For me So-Call can kiss my ass, If the Raiders move they along with Davis can also kiss my ass!. As a long time season bay area ticket holder going back to 1966 I’m tired of the bullshit!

    • I was raised on Oakland Raider football I tolerated the first move to LA but was very happy when they moved back. Not sure why they feel the need to go back to LA just don’t leave The west coast. I followed that team in the 70s when I lived in new England and in the 80s when I was in Texas and for the last 25 years from Tn. Just start winning again and the silver and black will stay strong
