Marshawn Lynch Begins Reinstatement Process, Hoping To Play For Raiders

While Marshawn Lynch has reportedly started the reinstatement process, Pro Football Talk reports that he has yet to submit any paperwork to the NFL.

Ed Werder of ESPN is reporting that Marshawn Lynch has begun the NFL reinstatement process and is still hoping to play for the Raiders or possibly team up with Richard Sherman if he’s traded.

Previous reports have said that Lynch has his sights set on playing for only the Raiders, but Jeff Howe recently said that Lynch has privately expressed interest in playing for the Patriots if talks break off with the Raiders in the coming weeks.

Lynch visited with the Raiders a few weeks ago and reportedly told them that he intends to play in 2017.

Lynch, 29, has two years remaining on his three-year, $31 million contract that included $12 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $9 million and $7 million over the final two years of the agreement.

During his career, Lynch rushed for 9,112 yards rushing on 2,144 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 252 receptions for 1,979 yards receiving and 83 total touchdowns for the Seahawks and Bills.

Lynch is a five-time Pro Bowler and made one first-team All-Pro team in 2012. He also helped the Seahawks win a Super Bowl in 2013.
