Marshawn Lynch & Michael Crabtree’s Status With Raiders Still “Very Much In Flux”

Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Raiders are privately “uncomfortable” with the money owed to WR Michael Crabtree and RB Marshawn Lynch and their situations are “very much in flux.

Both Raiders HC Jon Gruden and GM Reggie McKenzie said recently that Crabtree and Lynch could return for the 2018 season. However, Gehlken says that it’s possible “either or neither player being with the club in 2018.”

A decision regarding Lynch could come by March 18 when he’s owed a $1 million roster bonus, according to Gehlken.

Oakland has reportedly been plotting contingency plans at running back and receiver if the elect to move on from either or both players this offseason.

Lynch, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2007. He played three seasons in Buffalo before he was traded to the Seahawks.

Lynch decided to retire after six years with the Seahawks, but later came out of retirement last year and was traded to the Raiders.

As of now, Lynch is entering the second year of his two-year contract and set to make a base salary of $6 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Lynch has appeared in seven games and rushed for 891 yards on 207 carries (4.3 YPC) and seven touchdowns to go along with 20 receptions for 151 yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 running back out of 58 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Lynch and Crabtree as the news is available.
