Martellus Bennett An Option For The Buccaneers?

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Tribune expects to see the Buccaneers pursue Giants TE Martellus Bennett during free agency

The Buccaneers made due with Dallas Clark and Luke Stocker, but they could really use an impact player at the position.

Originally drafted by the Cowboys, Bennett signed a one-year deal with the Giants last season and took a big step towards living up to his potential in 2012. Bennett, still only 25, is a more than serviceable blocking tight end, but he really came on in the passing game this year as he tallied 55 catches for 626 yards with six touchdowns.

Bennett joins Tony Gonzalez, Dustin Keller, Jared Cook, Fred Davis and Anthony Fasano as the best available unrestricted free agent tight ends in this year’s market. We have Bennett listed as the No. 24 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
