Matt Cassel Has “Several” Broken Bones In His Foot, Out Indefinitely

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer told reporters following Sunday’s game that QB Matt Cassel has “several” fractured bones in his foot.

  • Zimmer added that first-round pick Teddy Bridgewater is ready to start for the team now that Cassel is out.

Cassel was carted off with what appeared to be a left toe injury, and was replaced by Bridgewater .

Cassel, 32, signed a two-year, $10 million contract to return to Minnesota back in March. So far this season, he has completed 59 percent of his passes for 372 yards, three TDs and four INTs.

Bridgewater finished 12 of 20 for 150 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. He did contribute 27 yards rushing as well.

It will be interesting to see if Teddy is able to run with the job now that Cassel out indefinitely.
