ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on this mornings SportsCenter that Matt Flynn is currently favorite to secure the Seattle Seahawks’ starting quarterback position.
“Right now, Matt Flynn is the favorite to win that job,” said Schefter.
While this doesn’t come as much of a surprise when you consider that Seattle is paying him a total of $19.5 million over three seasons, Flynn will still have to prove that he’s the right guy for the job throughout the preseason. Tarvaris Jackson is expected to be the odd man out here, with rookie Russell Wilson in the mix as well. It’s worth noting that Jackson actually worked with the first-team offense on Sunday, so he’s at least getting a shot at impressing the coaching staff.
At least the Seahawks will be one of the more compelling storylines throughout the next few weeks.
