Seahawks Prepared To Trade Matt Flynn?

Dan Pompei of National Football Post has heard that the Seahawks backup  QB Matt Flynn could “on the move” next season one year after signing  a three-year deal worth $19.5 million and includes $10 million guaranteed.

Rookie Russell Wilson has clearly displayed that he’s a long-term solution at quarterback, so it would make sense for Seattle to shop Flynn around to see if anyone is willing to part with a reasonable amount of value in return for him. A number of NFL teams are in need of help at quarterback, but it’s hard to say that anyone would be willing to step up and offer a lot for Flynn. Flynn has a $5.25 million base salary for next season, which only incentivizes a trade further.

The Kansas City Chiefs could be a possible destination seeing as the team is dire need of a new quarterback and new head coach Andy Reid is likely to employ a “West Coast Offense” next season. Packers executive John Dorsey is also the leading candidate for the team’s GM job, so he’s more than aware of Flynn’s overall ability. Whether or not they see him as their best option is a different story.
