One NFL executive who plans to target Packers QB Matt Flynn told Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports that “you can’t do anything until you get a final answer from Manning,” in regards to pursuing Flynn.
The exec believes that Flynn will command a similar deal to the one that Kevin Kolb signed with the Cardinals.
“Unless I’m way off, Flynn is going to get a contract that looks a lot like Kolb’s,” the exec said. “That’s the price of doing business in this league.”
Kolb wound up signing a reported six-year contract worth $65 million and included $22 million in guarantees but that total wound up being only $12 million.
It will be interesting to see what kind of market shapes for Flynn once Manning signs with one of the prospective teams.
