Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Bears RB Matt Forte received platelet rich plasma treatment for his recent MCL sprain injury.
Forte mentions that he’s not going to return to the Bears until he’s fully healthy.
“I’m just treating it, just like any other injury. I’m going to wait until I get 100 percent out there, because I don’t want to hurt myself,” said Forte. “And me not being 100 percent, I’m going to hurt he team as well, because I cant do what I’m supposed to do.”
It’s hard to blame Forte for not saying that he’ll return as soon as possible. Sunday’s close call almost cost him a big contract and the Bears reluctance to address his future with the team should force him to look out for No. 1. He honored his contract this season and should do what’s best for his future even if it’s not returning at 80%.
