Matt Moore An Option For The Jets?

Brian Costello of the New York Post writes that Dolphins backup QB Matt Moore could be a potential option for the Jets to consider during free agency.

Costello also lists Tavaris Jackson, Jason Campbell or David Garrard as other speculative options given that all of these players would only command a modest contract on the open the market.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweets that Jets new GM John Idzik is Tavaris Jackson supporter and could look to bring him in given that he most likely will not require a lot in terms of total dollars.

Costello notes that other options that could be available via trade like Michael Vick, Matt Flynn and Alex Smith are “unrealistic” due to the Jets salary cap issues.

Of the options listed, Moore seems to make the most sense for the Jets. Miami would like to retain Moore, but understand that they’re not going to compete with teams that are willing to offer him starters’ money.

We have Moore listed as the No. 58 best available player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
