Matt Slauson’s Visit With Bills Concludes Without Deal, Chargers Still In The Mix

Michael Gehlken of the Union Tribune reports that free agent OL Matt Slauson left his visit with the Bills without an agreement.

• According to Gehlken, the Chargers are still “very much” in the mix to sign Slauson.

As of now, these are the only teams to have expressed interest in Slauson, but it’s at least a possibility that he could meet with more teams.

The Bears elected to cut Slauson loose over the weekend, but it took just a few days for him to set up some visits with NFL teams.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Slauson to a contract wouldn’t factor into a team’s 2017 compensatory picks.

Slauson, 30, was in the third year of his four-year, $12.8 million contract when he was released in a move that freed up $2,570,000 in available cap space for the Bears.

In 2015, Slauson appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 5 center out of 39 qualifying players.
