Matthew Stafford Expected To Start For Lions Against Buccaneers

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Lions QB Matthew Stafford is expected to start Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers barring an unforeseen setback.

Stafford has been dealing with an injury to his throwing hand that limited him earlier in the week. However, all indications have been that he was going to be good to go in Week 14.

Stafford had his hand stepped on by Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs late in last week’s game and was replaced by Jake Ruddock.

Stafford, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Lions back in 2009. He was in the final year of his five-year, $76.5 million contract when he and the Lions agreed to a record-setting five-year, $135 million extension this offseason.

In 2017, Stafford has appeared in 12 games for the Lions and thrown for 3,302 yards while completing 63.9 percent of his passes to go along with 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
