Teammate Fred Taylor reported on 1010XL radio that it is very likely that the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Maurice Jones-Drew will hold out of training camp for a new contract.

Jones-Drew won the rushing title last year, amassing 1606 rushing yards over the course of the 2012-2013 season. Although Jones-Drew has 2 years and $9.4 million left on his contract, he would like to cash in on his recent success and receive long-term money.

He believes that he can  to be paid based on the recent flurry of running back signings. He is looking for money similar to the contracts recently signed by Ray Rice, Matt Forte, and LeSean McCoy. Rice’s deal was worth 5 years $40 million, Forte’s was worth 4 years $32 million, and McCoy’s was 5 years $45 million. Jones-Drew has already skipped the mandatory minicamp, so it doesn’t look like he will budge, until he gets his contract.
