Maurice Jones-Drew To Miss At Least The First 2 Games Of The Season

ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew will miss the first two games of the season, and possibly a few more.

This comes after JaguarsĀ head coach Mike Mularkey told the media on Monday that RB Rashad Jennings will be the team starter for Week 1.

Again, Rashad Jennings is going in as the starter,” coach Mularkey told the Florida Times Union.Ā “I think he can be a really good football player. A really good back. From what Iā€™ve seen on tape before I got here and what Iā€™ve seen in person, Iā€™d say weā€™ll be OK,ā€Ā

Jones-Drew has accumulated more than $1 million in fines over the first 32 days of his holdout andĀ will forgo a $267,765 paycheck for each regular-season game he misses. Meanwhile, Mularkey seems to have a lot of confidence in Jennings, who has carried the ball 36 times in the preseason for 176 yards.
