Michael Vick Done In Philadelphia If He Doesn’t Lead Them To The Playoffs?

NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that a league source has informed him that this could be Michael Vick‘s final season in Philadelphia if he is unable to lead the Eagles to the playoffs this year.

Vick, who arrived with Philadelphia  in 2009, is scheduled to make $16 million just 3 days after the Super Bowl, assuming he is still on their roster. The Eagles could easily cut ties with him before then, which would prevent them from paying out the remainder of his contract. Vick is scheduled to make $12.5 million and a $3 million roster bonus in 2014 and $14.5 million along with $2 million roster bonus in 2015, so you can see that this is obviously a big decision for the franchise.

After having missed the playoffs last year, Vick has consistently struggled with turnovers season. There’s a chance that the Eagles could elect to go with Nick Foles following his strong showing during the preseason this year.

It’s hard to speculate as to whether or not there would be a strong market for Vick, considering that his overall effectiveness is related to his ability to scramble, and his abilities could declining some.
