Report: Michael Vick “Doubtful” To Play On Sunday

Update:

Jeff McLane reports that a source close to the situation has informed him that Eagles QB Michael Vick is “doubtful” to play against the Buccaneers in Week 6.

The Eagles have him officially listed as questionable and some have suggested that he could be a game-time decision.

Vick mentioned that he expects to be back for Week 7, but we’ll have to see how things go next week before knowing whether or not that’s actually a possibility.

Eagles HC Chip Kelly wouldn’t say who will be the team’s starting quarterback this weekend against the Buccaneers.

Instead, Kelly just said that an announcement will be made at “12:59” on Sunday, via CSN Philly.

Michael Vick is feeling better after he was forced to leave Week 5’s game with a hamstring injury. Vick has participated in at least some of the team’s drills at practice for the past two days, but the team is expected to start Nick Foles this weekend.

“I get a feel for Mike that he is improving,” Kelly said. “He said [Thursday morning] he felt good. I talked to him in the weight room, and he said he felt good, but we’ll see what happens [at practice].

Vick mentioned that he expects to be ready to go for next weekend’s matchup against the Cowboys, per Geoff Mosher.

There’s still a chance that Vick could suit up against the Buccaneers this Sunday, but it appears as though he’ll miss one week and look to return in Week 7.

We’ll have more regarding his status in the coming days.
