Report: Michael Vick To Start Against The Giants

Update:

Michael Vick took all of the Eagles’ first-team snaps on Tuesday, which further indicates that will start Week 8’s game against the Giants, per Reuben Frank.

“I’m optimistic,” Vick said. “I’ve got a good chance. I can play if I’m 80 (percent).

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Eagles will in fact start QB Michael Vick in Week 8’s game against the Giants.

Vick missed two games with a hamstring strain, which allowed Nick Foles to get the start in his place. Foles looked great against the Buccaneers and equally as bad against the Cowboys. Vick is clearly their best option at quarterback.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that a source has informed him that Eagles QB Michael Vick will likely play in Week 8 even if he’s less than 100 percent.

  • McLane’s source added that Vick’s hamstring is still not 100 percent and the Eagles won’t know how close he is to returning until Wednesday.

It appears as though the consensus belief is that Vick will play against the Giants next weekend.

Nick Foles put together a poor outing against the Cowboys on Sunday before being forced to leave the game with a concussion. Rookie Matt Barkley stepped in and proceeded to throw some interceptions, so even an 80 percent healthy Vick would probably be an improvement for the Eagles, who now sit one game out of first in the NFC East.
