Mike Kafka “Running Away” With Eagles’ Backup QB Job

Geoff Mosher of the Courier-Post writes that Mike Kafka is “running away” with the Philadelphia Eagles’ backup quarterback job.

Mosher mentions that Trent Edwards has struggled making throw “even in offense-only drills with no defense to obstruct him.” Kafka has apparently displayed “stronger and more accurate arm” during the team’s OTA’s, which has left him in a great position to backup Michael Vick this year.

Rookie QB Nick Foles will almost certainly hang on to the No. 3 quarterback spot after the team used a third-round pick on him, so Edwards figures to be on the chopping block.
