Washington Signs WRs Donte Stallworth & Devery Henderson

Update:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Washington has signed WR Donte’ Stallworth.

  • Washington also announced the signing of WR Devery Henderson on Wednesday as well.

It appears as though Stallworth has a decent shot at making the team’s final roster, but he’ll obviously have to continue impressing the coaching staff throughout training camp.

Henderson, 31, will have a much harder time making the team, but he provides some additional depth as a deep-threat receiver.

Redskins HC Mike Shanahan told reporters that he expects to sign free agent WR Donte’ Stallworth following the team’s minicamp.

“He impressed me today,” said Shanahan, per Rich Campbell.

Stallworth, 32, has been trying out for the team in recent days, and barring “an unexpected drop in play,” should be added to the team’s roster at some point in the near future.

Stallworth was recently cleared for football activities after suffering severe burns in a hot-air balloon accident.

The Patriots were also mentioned as a possible landing spot, but it appears as though he’ll have an opportunity to make the Redskins roster during training camp.
